Field Trips

A number of field trips can be organised and led by Tectonic Analysis. Guides exist for the following trips, and modifications to trip content may be made at any time.

  • SerranĂ­a del Interior Oriental, Eastern Venezuela. The entire exposed Valanginian to Miocene section, including the Cretaceous passive margin, the Paleogene "epeirogenic uplift event", and the Oligocene-Middle Miocene orogenic belt and foredeep, all placed within the evolution of the Caribbean Plate and southern Caribbean plate boundary zone.
  • Trinidad. Cretaceous to Quaternary sections, including the Central Range SW-derived clastic systems, the Southern Range diapir-cored anticline, and the East Coast gravitational collapse clastic systems, all placed within the evolution of the Caribbean Plate and southern Caribbean plate boundary zone.
  • Barbados. The Scotland District and its reefal cover, including the Scotland Formation, the Oceanic Series, and the "Intermediates", all placed within the evolution of the Caribbean Plate and southern Caribbean plate boundary zone.
